To operate a Max Series card in Octopus NET, the GTL port (white) on the mainboard must be activated (GTL Enabled). Likewise, if you only want to connect DuoFlex cards to all ports, the GTL port on the mainboard must be disabled (GTL Disabled) as follows:
Note: For both methods, you must first enable Telnet access in the Octopus NET. Call up the IP address of Octopus NET in a web browser and navigate to "System Settings". Check the box "Telnet" and then click on "Set".
Via OctopusCast Tool (V1.x):
Via "Options -> OctopusNet - Max S8 Operating Mode..." you can switch between GTL and normal mode. Please pay attention to the correct IP address if there are several Octopus NETs in your network. Follow the instructions in the programme.
Via OctopusCast-NET Tool (V2.x):
Via "General -> Tuner Mode" you can switch between GTL and normal mode. Please pay attention to the correct IP address if there are several Octopus NETs in your network. Follow the instructions in the programme.
Switching via Telnet
Establish a Telnet connection with Octopus NET via port 23, as Telnet client you can use e.g. Putty:
log in with the user:
root
Navigate to the config directory with:
cd /config
and list the files of the directory with:
ls
Activate GTL port:
If the file gtl.disabled is already present in the path /config/, rename it with the command:
mv gtl.disabled gtl.enabled
reboot
If the file is not present in the /config/ path, create it with:
touch gtl.enabled
Disable GTL port:
If the file gtl.enabled is already present in the path /config/, rename it with the command
mv gtl.enabled gtl.disabled
touch gtl.disabled
After the changeover process has been started, the box restarts and then shut down. Restart Octopus NET manually.
